Senior Mechanical Engineer
Are you passionate about reducing CO2 emissions by 1.1 BMT each year and helping homeowners save money on their electricity bill? Join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). We're seeking a driven individual with a Ph.D. in energy systems, energy conversion and storage, sustainable energy technologies and advanced computational methods combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience in CFD simulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute CFD simulations, employing advanced methodologies to optimize designs and solve complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions in energy systems, energy conversion and storage, sustainable energy technologies, advanced computational methods or related fields.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in CFD methodologies, aiding in the development and enhancement of engineering projects.
- Drive research initiatives, staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in CFD and related disciplines.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a focus on energy systems, energy conversion and storage, sustainable energy technologies, advanced computational methods, advanced thermodynamic cycles or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations showcasing a strong track record of successful projects and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in commercial software tools for CFD analysis (e.g., ANSYS Fluent/CFX and Siemens Star ccm+.) involving familiarity with high‐fidelity and multi‐disciplinary analyses, LES or hybrid RANS-LES methods, transient thermal physics, moving mesh, flows through porous material and advanced data visualization methods.
- Strong background in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and related disciplines.
- Experience in the development of user subroutines using Java, Visual Studio and C++ is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders effectively.
